Raden Ajeng Kartini is a very
popular beautiful woman in Indonesia, she was a good role model. Many people describe her as a beautiful
woman in her era. From the physical appearance she was so simple but also elegant and pretty. She had black hair and brown face like ordinary Java woman. Kartini also used hair bun, known as ‘Sanggul’, in Javanese
language, and usually adorned with silver pins or with ornate floral designs.
She always depicted wear a great traditional clothes of Java. It is called “Kebaya”. It makes her
looked more feminine and elegant.
R.A Kartini did not
just have beauty in her physical appearance but, she also had a beautiful personality and character. She was
diligent and had a good spirit to
learn about everything, especially about reading and writing. The good books which she often read were Max Havelar and Surat-surat Cinta by Multatuli and De Stille Kraach
by Louis Coperus and etc. It made her get an amazing idea and gave her inspiration to free women from the unfair treatment. She was considered brave at that time to start education
for women by opening school in her
house. Later, it’s known as ‘Sekolah Kartini’.
